In Sanskrit literature, there are many ways in which wisdom is imparted.

Axioms were one of the ways used by wise men to explain difficult things in an easy to understand way.

जननी जन्मभूमिश्च स्वर्गादपि गरीयसी।

Transliteration –

Jananī janmabhūmiśca svargādapi garīyasī।

English Translation –

Mother and Motherland are greater than heaven.

Hindi Translation – 

माँ और मातृभूमि स्वर्ग से भी श्रेष्ठ है।

यतेम हि स्वराज्यते।

Transliteration –

yatema hi svarājyate।

English Translation –

We should always strive for freedom.

Hindi Translation – 

हम स्वराज्य के लिए ही प्रयत्न करें।

हस्तस्य भूषणं दानम्।

Transliteration –

Hastasya bhūṣaṇaṃ dānam।

English Translation –

The ornament of a hand is donation.

Hindi Translation – 

दान करना ही हाथ का आभूषण है।

न नीतिवृद्धेषु वयः समीक्षते।

Transliteration –

Na nītivṛddheṣu vayaḥ samīkṣate।

English Translation –

One should not check the age of a wise person.

Hindi Translation – 

नीति को जाननेवाले की आयु नहीं देखी जाती।

न दैवप्रमाणं कार्यसिद्धिः।

Transliteration –

Na daivapramāṇaṃ kāryasiddhiḥ।

English Translation –

The work of people who depend on luck do not get their work  accomplished.

Hindi Translation – 

भाग्य पर निर्भर रहने वालों के कार्य सिद्ध नहीं होते।

मानो हि महतां धनम्।

Transliteration –

Māno hi mahatāṃ dhanam।

English Translation –

For great people respect is the biggest wealth.

Hindi Translation – 

महान लोगों का सबसे बड़ा धन सम्मान ही है।

उत्सवप्रियाः खलु मनुष्याः।

Transliteration –

Utsavapriyāḥ khalu manuṣyāḥ।

English Translation –

Humans like to enjoy and celebrate.

Hindi Translation – 

मनुष्य उत्सवप्रेमी होता है।

वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्।

Transliteration –

Vasudhaiva kuṭumbakam।

English Translation –

The world is one family.

Hindi Translation – 

पूरी धरती एक कुटुंब है।

World is one family

नास्ति मातृसमो गुरु।

Transliteration –

Nāsti mātṛsamo guru।

English Translation –

There is no teacher like a mother.

Hindi Translation – 

मातासमान दूसरा कोई गुरु नही।

अतिस्नेहः पापशंकी।

Transliteration –

Atisnehaḥ pāpaśaṃkī।

English Translation –

Extreme love sometimes creates suspicion.

Hindi Translation – 

अति प्रेम पाप की शंका उत्पन्न करता है।

अत्यादरः शंकनीय।

Transliteration –

Atyādaraḥ śaṃkanīya।

English Translation –

Extreme respect sometimes creates suspicion.

Hindi Translation – 

अति आदर किया जाना शंका उत्पन्न करता है।

हेतुरत्र भविष्यति।

Transliteration –

Heturatra bhaviṣyati।

English Translation –

Nothing happens without a reason.

Hindi Translation – 

कारण के बिना कुछ भी नहीं होता।
