Axioms were one of the ways used by wise men to explain difficult things in an easy to understand way.

शत्रोरपि गुणाः ग्राह्याः।

Transliteration – śatrorapi guṇāḥ grāhyāḥ।

The above given axiom’s translation in English is “We can also learn from our enemies” and in Hindi is “शत्रु के भी गुण ग्रहण करने चाहिए।”.

Transliteration – Maunaṃ sarvārthasādhanam।

मौनं सम्मतिलक्षणम्।

Transliteration – Mmaunaṃ sammatilakṣaṇam।

अति आदरः शङ्कनीय।

Transliteration – Ati ādaraḥ śaṅkanīya।

यद् भविष्यः विनश्यति।

Transliteration – Yad bhaviṣyaḥ vinaśyati।

शोकः सर्वं नाशयते नास्ति शोकसमः रिपुः।

Transliteration – śokaḥ sarvaṃ nāśayate nāsti śokasamaḥ ripuḥ।

The above given axiom’s translation in English is “Sorrow destroys everything. There is no foe like sorrow” and in Hindi is “शोक सबकुछ नष्ट कर देता है, शोक के समान कोई दुश्मन नही।”.

न नित्यं लभते दुःखं न नित्यं लभते सुखम्।

Transliteration – Na nityaṃ labhate duḥkhaṃ na nityaṃ labhate sukham।

The above given axiom’s translation in English is “Nobody gets happiness or sorrow all the time” and in Hindi is “किसी को सदैव दुःख नहीं मिलता या सदैव सुख भी नहीं मिलता।”.

गतं न शोचन्ति महानुभावाः।

Transliteration – Gataṃ na śocanti mahānubhāvāḥ।

The above given axiom’s translation in English is “Wise people do not cry over spilled milk” and in Hindi is “सज्जन बीते हुए का शोक नहीं करते।”.

नास्ति बुद्धिमतां शत्रुः।

Transliteration – Nāsti buddhimatāṃ śatruḥ।
