माता शत्रुः पिता वैरी येन बालो न पाठितः।
न शोभते सभामध्ये हंसमध्ये बको यथा॥
mātā śatruḥ pitā vairī yena bālo na pāṭhitaḥ।
na śobhate sabhāmadhye haṃsamadhye bako yathā ॥

भावार्थ
वह माता शत्रु तथा पिता बैरी है जिन्होंने अपने बालक को पढ़ाया नही है। सभा में ऐसा बालक शोभा नहीं देता जैसे हंसों में बगुला शोभा नहीं देता।
Meaning in English
If mother & father do not provide proper education to their child, then they are like an enemy of the child. Such a child is not a right fit in the society, the way cranes do not fit amongst swans.
