हस्तस्य भूषणं दानम् अस्ति। कण्ठस्य भूषणं सत्यवचनम् अस्ति। श्रोत्रस्य (कर्णस्य) भूषणं शास्त्रश्रवणम् अस्ति। तर्हि अन्यैः भूषणैः किं प्रयोजनम्?
भावार्थ
हाथ का आभूषण दान करना है, कंठ का आभूषण सत्य बोलना है और कान का आभूषण शास्त्र सुनना है। फिर अन्य आभूषणों का क्या प्रयोजन?

The ornament of the hands is donating (charity), the ornament of the throat is speaking the truth and the ornament of the ears is listening to various scriptures and knowledge. Then what is the need for other ornaments?
