उज्जयिनीनगरम् इति विषये संस्कृतभाषायां निबन्धः।
उज्जयिनीनगरं भारतदेशस्य मध्यप्रदेशराज्ये स्थितम् अस्ति।
एतत् प्राचीनम् ऐतिहासिकं च नगरम् अस्ति।
उज्जयिनीनगरं सनातनधर्मस्य सप्तपुरीषु एकम् अस्ति।
इदं नगरं क्षिप्रा (शिप्रा) इति नद्याः तीरे स्थितम् अस्ति।
‘अवन्तिका’, ‘उज्जैन’ इत्यादीनि उज्जयिनीनगरस्य अन्यानि नामानि सन्ति।
अत्र नैकानि प्रसिद्धानि मन्दिराणि सन्ति।
‘महाकालेश्वरः’ इति ज्योतिर्लिङ्गम् अस्मिन् नगरे वर्तते।
अस्मिन् नगरे ‘कुम्भमेला’ इति उत्सवः आयुज्यते।
अत्र कलायाः साहित्यस्य संस्कृतेः च अद्वितीयः सङ्गमः अस्ति।
उज्जयिनीनगरं हिन्दुभ्यः पवित्रं स्थानम् अस्ति।

यह नगर क्षिप्रा (शिप्रा) नदी के तट पर स्थित है।
‘अवंतिका’, ‘उज्जैन’ इत्यादि उज्जयिनी नगर के अन्य नाम हैं।
यहाँ अनेक प्रसिद्ध मंदिर हैं।
